The Pima County (Ariz.) Sheriff's SWAT team fatally shot a former Marine during a raid, firing 71 shots at the man who held allegedly pointed an AR-15 rifle at officers serving a warrant at his home.

Fla. SWAT Medic Saves Shot Deputy
Quin Romay was on hand when the team raided a drug house in West Putnam County. A week ago, a bullet struck veteran deputy Randy Hayes, finding its way around his protective vest and lodging in his chest. Romay rushed to have Dep. Hayes removed to the SWAT van and treated until he could be transferred to a dispatched ambulance.

A Limon (Colo.) Police officer was killed late Wednesday at a mobile home park in eastern Colorado by a barricaded gunman while serving a warrant with two other officers who became trapped in the home and were later freed by SWAT.

There were three rapid gun shots, and the Marshal saw the K-9 officer roll off the suspect. The Marshal transitioned to his firearm and was shot twice (lower front vest and groin) and fell back through the attic opening onto the detective and onto the floor. The suspect began to fire rounds from the attic through the ceiling at officers.
