Video: Texas Officers Support Rice U. Cop Fired for Responding to Officer Down Call
Officer David Sedmak’s trouble began when he heard a radio call on May 7 about a shooting at a downtown Houston Greyhound station. After learning that an officer had been shot, Sedmak left the campus – two minutes away from the scene – and rushed to the scene to help. Officers said Sedmak was a hero, but Rice University fired him for dereliction of duty.

Once police arrived at the scene, they surrounded the animal from every angle. The bear was shot with a tranquilizer dart after it ran across the street and climbed a tree.

San Jose Campus Shooting May Be Murder Suicide
San Jose State police wouldn't disclose the identity of the shooter or the victims, although authorities say the individuals involved knew each other and were two men and one women. Police are also saying the attack was not random and not gang related. It is unclear if the victims or shooter were students.

Arizona Governor Vetoes Campus Carry Bill
Arizona's Gov. Jan Brewer vetoed a bill that would allow guns on Arizona's college campuses. Brewer said she vetoed the campus gun bill because it was "poorly written."
