ACLU Calls for Civil Rights Probe of Seattle PD
The American Civil Liberties Union of Washington called on the U.S. Justice Department Thursday to investigate whether there is a pattern and practice of civil rights violations by the Seattle Police Department, citing a newly released video showing an officer kicking an African-American teenage boy and other "unnecessarily violent confrontations with citizens" of color.

Former Memphis Officer Sentenced for Violating Detainee's Civil Rights
White pleaded guilty on Nov. 25, 2009, to violating the civil rights of Pierre Jefferson. After handcuffing Jefferson in May 2008, White rammed Jefferson's head into the corner of a building, and struck him in the face several times, causing him to fall to the ground. White also admitted to kicking Jefferson after he fell to the ground.

Denver PD has settled a lawsuit stemming from the rough arrest in April 2009 of a 24-year-old man outside a city nightclub. An independent monitor sided with the man's claim that officers used excessive force. The video is an ABC News report that includes interviews with the two men on Good Morning America.

Paris (Texas) Police Chief Bob Hundley released a three-minute clip of the dashboard video of the arrest, which took place Nov. 10, 2009. In the clip, Officer Jeremy Massey is shown throwing 18-year-old Cornelius Gill onto the hood, after handcuffing him.
