Sergeant Killed in California Mass Shooting was Struck by "Friendly Fire"

Authorities reported Friday that the Ventura County Sheriff’s sergeant killed during the mass shooting at the Borderline Bar & Grill in October was struck by "friendly fire" during the firefight with the gunman.

Illinois Task Force Officer Hospitalized with "Unknown Medical Emergency"

Currently in Florida, killing a police dog is a third-degree felony -- which carries a sentence of up to five years in prison. If passed, the new legislation would make killing any public safety dog a second-degree felony, tripling the maximum prison sentence to up to 15 years.

The gunman fired a total of more than 50 rounds in the shooting at Borderline Bar & Grill on the evening of Nov. 7, Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub said. Eleven people were killed in the bar.
