The video at the center of the investigation shows the officer placing a collar on 4-year-old K-9 Zuul, then lifting the dog off the ground using the collar. After struggling to get the dog into the back of a vehicle, the officer appears to strike the animal.

MN K-9 Shot, Killed at Standoff
Police said K9 Luna was sent in to apprehend the suspect, at which point, the suspect fired gunshots, which hit Luna. Officers returned fire, then set up a perimeter to contain the scene, according to the police.

Blaine, MN, police say officers first responded to a report of a shoplifting at a Kohl’s just before 1 p.m. Officers soon located the suspects in a stolen car. They drove off, then reportedly carjacked the driver of a pick-up truck at gunpoint and fled north on Highway 65.

Austin SWAT Kills Suspect Holding Woman and Child as Hostages
At one point, Chief Brian Manley said a door was open, revealing the child hostage motioning to officers to come inside, telling them there was no one inside the home with him. However, officers saw the suspect shut the door. This was now believed to be an attempt to lure officers inside, according to Manley.

Canadian K-9 Stabbed, Saved by Armor
The vehicle ended up stuck in snow and one of the occupants, a male suspect, who attempted to run was found in deep snow. Officers were attempting to bring him into custody when their dog, Oliver, was stabbed repeatedly with a knife, police say.
