An eastern Tennessee police agency is reporting that one of its K-9s died in Hurricane Helene Friday when he was swept away in a flash flood.

The Erwin Police Department said K-9 Scotty went missing on Friday in the Bumpass Cove area of Unicoi County.
The dog’s body was found Saturday, Fox Weather reports.
"Please pray for his handler and all who loved him," the police department said in a statement.
