An officer with the Ewing (NJ) Police Department and her K-9 partner are "blowing up" on social media with more than 15,000 followers. Their photos and videos on Instagram may one day even overshadow an on-duty accomplishment that could put them in law enforcement history books.
According to CBS News, Officer Brittney Fornarotto and K-9 Jax made one of the largest drug busts in United States history when they located and seized 16.5 tons—33,000 pounds—of cocaine at the Packer Avenue Marine Terminal in South Philadelphia.
That haul had an estimated street value of more than $1 billion.
The two have been partners for a year-and-a-half, and it's clear from their posts on Instagram that they've developed a deep bond.
The description of the Instagram page reads, "Just a crazy Belgian Malinois looking to protect and serve out community. Certified in narcotics, patrol, cuteness, and makin' mama proud."
On the social media platform, Officer Fornarotto chronicles the duo's on-duty and off-duty adventures, with one image in particular getting a lot of attention. In it, Fornarotto and K-9 Jax are in their patrol vehicle with mouths wide open in a smile.
