Texas Bicycle Shop Cancels Massive Contract with Police Department

During protests over the in-custody death of George Floyd in May, officers in Austin (TX) have used bicycles to block people in the crowd from getting onto roadways, and now the bike shop that had the contract to supply and service those bicycles has cancelled its contract with the department.
According to Fox News, a few employees at Mellow Johnny's Bike Shop complained about selling bicycles to police officers, so the shop decided to terminate the contract.
The department's bike patrol unit consists of more than 150 bicycle patrol officers who had purchased about 50 bikes—as well as all the necessary accessories—from the bike shop every year.
Had the contract not been cancelled, it was slated to last at least another four years.
