San Jose Officers Begin Using Head-Mounted Cameras

The San Jose Police Department became the first law enforcement agency in the country to deploy head-mounted video cameras on officers during a pilot program started late last year. The department implemented the new TASER AXON and Evidence.com system.

Arkansas Prosecutor Calls TASER Axon Technology 'Quantum Leap'

Cpl. Brandon Davis of the Fort Smith (Ark.) PD was wearing the TASER Axon on-officer recorder November 11th when he shot and killed 41-year-old Eric Berry. Berry refused to drop a handgun he aimed at officers. The video was a key piece of evidence used to clear Davis in the case. This is a first for law enforcement in Arkansas, if not the nation.

San Jose PD Testing TASER AXON Video System

The portable AXON cameras, made by Taser International, are expected to be given to 72 San Jose officers in late November or early December, police said. The cameras can record an officer's point of view for up to 10 1/2 hours, and police say the devices will help officers write more accurate reports and aid officers if their actions are called in to question.
