Police Believe Lakewood Cop-Killing Suspect May Be Dead

Maurice Clemmons, the man suspected of killing four Lakewood police officers Sunday in a Parkland coffee shop, was shot and perhaps seriously wounded by one of the officers before fleeing, Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said this morning.

Sheriff's Spokesman Says No Specific Threats Were Made Against Lakewood Police

The gunman walked into the coffee shop and shot two of the Lakewood officers as they sat down. The other two officers stood up. One officer was killed. The fourth officer fought the gunman and may have injured him. The officer was able to fire his weapon said Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said.
