Chicago-Area Officer Killed in Crash Driving to Work
The suspect then struck the vehicle driven by Glenview Police Officer Robert Fryc, 43, who was on his way to work. Fryc was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Indiana Girl’s Planned Attack on High School Foiled by FBI, Local Officers
On Tuesday evening, local law enforcement received a tip from the FBI about a planned school shooting at Mooresville High School. A person of interest was later identified as Trinity Shockley, a news release from the department said.

Arizona Suspect Uses Blow Torch to Detonate Propane Tank at End of Pursuit
He was pursued to a residential area near where he reportedly rammed a Prescott PD patrol vehicle. Yavapai County deputies then used their vehicles to box in the car, preventing the suspect from driving away.

The new ordinance allows police to use non-lethal weapons such as blast balls and pepper spray but requires those methods to be approved by the chief of police.

Officers arrived, encountered the man and told him to drop the gun. The chief said the suspect refused, and shot at officers, seriously wounding one of them.

Philadelphia Officer Shot, Saved by Body Armor
Police say the suspect opened fire and an officer was hit in the hand and in his jacket, striking his body armor. Officers reportedly did not return fire.
