On January 7, 2025, Officer Adrian Woolford was informed by a firefighter that a woman was trapped in her home during the Eaton fires. Disregarding significant personal risk, he ran toward the fire and was joined by Officers Banuelos and Bombardier. Together, the officers conducted door-to-door searches, forcibly entering a residence when necessary, to ensure no individuals were trapped inside. They successfully assisted multiple residents in reaching safety.
“The heroic actions of Officers Woolford, Banuelos, and Bombardier exemplify the selfless courage and unwavering commitment that define true heroes in law enforcement,” said William Alexander, CEO of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. “Their determination to protect those at risk, even in the face of extreme danger, showcases the best of what law enforcement stands for. We are honored to recognize them as Officers of the Month for January 2025.”
The Officer of the Month Award Program is sponsored by the Police Unity Tour and recognizes federal, state, and local officers who distinguish themselves through exemplary law enforcement service and devotion to duty.
