North Carolina Deputies Pull Alligator Off Highway

Deputies from the Brunswick County (North Carolina) Sheriff’s Office were dispatched Tuesday night to wrangle an alligator off of a local highway.

The sheriff’s department reports on Facebook that Deputies Branch, Sutton and Nichter responded to the base of the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge on U.S. 17S “after receiving multiple calls about [a large alligator] hanging out in the roadway.

Video from the incident shows deputies using animal control tools to pull the reptile off of the road and behind the guardrails.

“Thankfully, the alligator was saved from traffic on the highway and those traveling the highway were saved from the gator!” the sheriff’s department said.
