A Post Falls, Idaho, police died while on duty Sunday after experiencing what officials say was a massive heart attack.
Officer Nicholas McDaniel, 36, failed to respond to a status check from Post Falls Communications Center after completing a call for service, police said.
When officers arrived at McDaniel’s last known location they found him slumped over the wheel of his police vehicle. Officers started CPR then Kootenai County Fire and Rescue took him to Kootenai Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, KREM reports.
Officer McDaniel had worked for Post Falls PD for a little under a year, with 13 years served previously in Hawaii.
