Man Convicted of Bludgeoning Delaware Officer to Death

A Sussex County Superior Court Judge in Georgetown, Delaware, has found Randon Wilkerson guilt of the 2021 murder of Delmar police officer Keith Heacook

Randon Wilkerson, 32, attacked Heacook while the officer was responding to a fight at a Delmar home. Witnesses said they saw Wilkerson repeatedly slamming his foot on Heacook’s head. Wilkerson was also found guilty of attacking and injuring an elderly couple the same day.

Neither the defense nor prosecution gave any words in Monday's proceedings. The conviction comes solely from Judge Craig Karsnitz, as Wilkerson waived his right to a jury trial in September. It took the judge less than two hours to hand down his verdict of guilty on all charges, WBOC reports.

Sentencing is scheduled for December.
