Detroit Police took about $1.3 million worth of heroin off the streets over the weekend, Detroit Police Chief Warren Evans said today.
Evans said members of Detroit Police and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement intercepted a package that contained 715 grams of heroin that was being delivered to a vacant house on the city’s west side. Officers had set up surveillance, and once the package was delivered a search warrant was executed to retrieve it. No arrests were made.
“Thanks to collaborative efforts with ICE, this bust brings to nearly $18 million the value of the cocaine, marijuana and heroin taken out of circulation in the past three months,” Evans said.
