Safariland Training Group's 2010 National Conference will be held Nov. 1-4 near New Orleans and will feature a new line of lecture-based law enforcement classes as well as more specialized courses that will expand on traditional training.

The 2010 National Conference is geared towards the changing needs of the law enforcement community, according to Sandy Wall, Safariland's director of training. "Our focus is to offer courses that are unique and challenging with personalized attention and hands-on instruction."

Formerly known as the Less Lethal Conference and the Monadnock Training Conference, Safariland's program will combine existing courses with a new line of training options including Patrol Rifle and Patrol Shield, Crime Scene Investigation, Crowd Management, and Startle Response to an Ambush.

The new lecture-based classes geared toward supervisors and investigators will include topics such as Leadership and Command for Patrol Supervisors, High-risk Warrant Planning for Team Leaders and Supervisors, Critical Incident Command, and Homicide Investigations.

Safariland's conference will be held at the Crowne Point Plaza Hotel in Kenner, La., and offers discounted pricing to accommodate law enforcement agencies that have experienced budget cuts.
