A jury has cleared Baltimore PD's Officer John Torres in the April 2008 fatal shooting of Officer Norman Stamp during an off-duty shooting outside of a strip club, reports the Baltimore Sun.
Torres had responded to a fight outside the Haven Place club in southeast Baltimore. Here's an excerpt of what ensued:
Stamp, 65, who was hanging out with members of his motorcycle club, rushed out of the bar with brass knuckles. Torres struck him with a Taser, then fired two shots when Stamp reached for his service weapon, police said. As he lay dying, Stamp identified himself as an officer.
