A Norton Shores (Mich.) Police officer's decision to fatally shoot a suicidal man holding his 84-year-old mother at knife point likely saved the mother's life, the county prosecutor has ruled.
Norton Shores PD's Cpl. Matthew Rhyndress fatally shot the agitated, suicidal Benjamin Arthur Kukulka. The shots likely saved Polly Kukulka from serious injury or death, according to Muskegon County Prosecutor Tony Tague, reports the Muskegon Chronicle.
