After pulling him over, the officer asked Everson Griffen for his license, which turned out not to be valid. He reportedly then told them "he did not want to go back to jail" and sprinted away from the officers, who caught up with him. Griffen was Tasered after he allegedly grabbed the officer in the groin area.
A Los Angeles Police Department officer used a TASER to subdue Everson Griffen, a member of the Minnesota Vikings, after he allegedly assaulted the officer near the University of Southern California campus.
Griffen was taken into custody shortly after 4 p.m. Monday, when the incident reportedly occurred, reports the Los Angeles Times.
