A 16-year-old boy who was allegedly driving under the influence while being pursued by police is facing charges connected to a crash that caused the death of a 911 dispatcher.
Marquis Harrison, of Chicago, is charged as an adult with one count each of first-degree murder and burglary, as well as a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence.
Police stopped a Range Rover at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday for disregarding a red light. As officers approached his vehicle, Harrison put it in reverse and struck one of the police cruisers.
Officers pursued the vehicle, which was reported stolen, into Bucktown. The driver disregarded a stop sign and struck 42-year-old Marciea Adkins, who was driving home from her shift as a 911 dispatcher.
