Shot LAPD Canine Officer Leaves Hospital

Los Angeles Police Officer Steven Jenkins, the canine unit officer who was shot by an irate husband earlier this month, left the hospital Saturday, and gave a "thumbs up" to the media and well-wishers.

Los Angeles Police Officer Steven Jenkins, the canine unit officer who was shot by an irate husband earlier this month, left the hospital Saturday, and gave a "thumbs up" to the media and well-wishers.

Officer Jenkins, who was shot twice in the jaw and shoulder, underwent several surgeries. His jaw remains wired shut.

Sergio Salazar, the 53-year-old man who shot Officer Jenkins, was found dead in the Sylmar home that was partially demolished by SWAT during a barricade situation.
