Los Angeles Police Officer Steven Jenkins, the canine unit officer who was shot by an irate husband earlier this month, left the hospital Saturday, and gave a "thumbs up" to the media and well-wishers.
Officer Jenkins, who was shot twice in the jaw and shoulder, underwent several surgeries. His jaw remains wired shut.
Sergio Salazar, the 53-year-old man who shot Officer Jenkins, was found dead in the Sylmar home that was partially demolished by SWAT during a barricade situation.
