A Bronx grand jury has indicted 17 NYPD officers and five civilians, including a drug dealer who has been tied to a patrol officer via a wiretap recording.
The suspected drug dealer has been linked to a patrol officer in the Bronx's 40th Precinct.
The charges range from official misconduct to grand larceny, and stem from a two-year investigation by the NYPD's Internal Affairs Bureau. The grand jury has been reviewing the evidence for six months. Ten union officials, mostly from the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association, are expected to face indictments.
