John Walsh's "America's Most Wanted" returns tonight on Lifetime as "basically the same show" that aired on Fox for 23 years before that network canceled it in the spring.
Lifetime begins airing weekly episodes at 9 p.m. tonight.
The criminal roundup has led to the capture of more than 1,100 fugitives in the U.S. and 30 countries, as well as the rescue of 61 children and missing persons, reports the Associated Press.
Walsh says he won't soften the show's gritty tough-guy tone for a network aimed primarily at women.
