Colo. Officer OK After Man Fires AR-15 at T-Stop

A Longmont (Colo.) Police officer wasn't hurt after a man driving without headlights at night opened fire with an AR-15 during a traffic stop.
Officer Brent Cairns, a four-year veteran, pulled over a Subaru Impreza driven by Jonathan Shank at 2:12 a.m. Wednesday. The two vehicles stopped in a Best Buy parking lot, reports the Longmont Times Call.
Shank exited his vehicle with an AR-15 and charged the officer. He opened fire on Officer Cairns, who returned fire and struck Shank with three rounds from his 9mm sidearm.
Shank remains in critical condition. Detectives recovered several guns and multiple boxes of ammunition from the suspect's home following the shooting.
