The head of a suburban New York police department was arrested on child pornography charges, officials said.
Brian Fanelli, who became the police chief of Mount Pleasant just three months ago and was still considered a provisional police chief, was taken into custody at his home in Mahopac on Thursday.
Members of the U.S. Homeland Security Special Investigations made the arrest, claiming that the Mount Pleasant top cop was “trafficking in child pornography,” town Supervisor Joan Maybury told the New York Daily News.
