South Carolina State troopers say no charges will be filed in the Friday night collision where a Richland County (S.C.) deputy is alleged to have run a red light and hit another car before flipping his SUV.

Richland County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Lt. Curtis Wilson identified the deputy as Cpl. Ken Proffitt.

Wilson says Proffitt was on duty at the time of the incident, but was not responding to a call when his car crashed on Two Notch Road near Interstate 77 on Friday.

Troopers say Proffitt's blue lights were not on when he tried to go through the intersection.

The cruiser flipped over and the other car was totaled. Proffitt was treated for minor injuries at the hospital. The driver, 22-year-old Katie Miles has scratches and bruises.

Deputy Proffitt faces an internal investigation into the collision.
