VIDEO: Bus Passengers Assist State Trooper Under Attack
After a bus passenger started punching an Ohio State trooper, other passengers came to the trooper's aid, reports the Columbus Dispatch.
A Greyhound bus driver concerned about a passenger acting strangely contacted the Ohio State Highway Patrol and pulled to the side of the road. A cellphone video posted to YouTube shows passenger Antoinette Taylor, 26, yelling at riders inside the bus. Trooper Tressa Winans then boards the bus.
"All of a sudden you see fists flying and the trooper’s hat is knocked off and they’re falling out of the bus," patrol spokesman Lt. Craig Cvetan said.
The video, shot from inside the bus, shows Taylor pinning Winans near a guardrail and punching her and pulling her hair. Passengers inside call on others to help. That’s when the driver and a passenger grab Taylor from behind so that Winans can regain control and handcuff her.
Taylor was charged with assault on a police officer, a fourth-degree felony.
Winans was treated for cuts and bruises, including on her head and face.
