As we approach the 15th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks on American soil, the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) National President Nathan Catura issued the following message in memory and recognition of those first responders and law enforcement who gave the ultimate sacrifice to aid their fellow Americans:

"This date is forever burned into our memories as we all vividly recall exactly where we were and what we were doing when these heinous attacks occurred.

"Seventy-two officers from eight different law enforcement agencies tragically lost their lives fifteen years ago, and more than 100 police officers and federal agents have since passed due to exposure to deadly toxins while assisting with search and recovery efforts.

"This is a time to pause and remember their sacrifice, and to take time to appreciate those who are with us today, continuing to work tirelessly to protect and serve our country."
