The ACLU has filed suit against the city of St. Louis for what it calls "unlawful and unconstitutional" actions by police during protests of the Stockley verdict.

The lawsuit, announced in a press release, centers on the use of chemical weapons, interference with people filming police activity and violation of due process during a incident Sunday.
More than 100 people were arrested Sunday night. Most of the charged were accused of failure to disperse, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
"On both Friday and Sunday, protestors and bystanders had chemical weapons used against them without proper protocol. Officers also interfered with people recording police activities in photos and on video. On Sunday, officers unlawfully detained people – violating their due process rights – when St. Louis Police used a tactic called 'kettling' during a protest downtown," the ACLU said in a statement.
