Murder Suspect Shot, Killed in Toledo Police Station After TASER Grab
Police say the suspect, who was in police custody, was shot and killed when police say he charged at an officer and grabbed that officer's TASER.
Toledo, OH, police say an officer-involved shooting occurred inside TPD headquarters Thursday.
Police say the suspect, who was in police custody, is Damon Barstad, 23, of Warren, MI, and he was shot and killed when police say he charged at an officer and grabbed that officer's TASER.
During the struggle, he was shot once and died at the scene. Police say he was not handcuffed at the time.
Barstad was arrested early Thursday morning at the Days Inn on Miami Street in Toledo by Warren Police detectives. He is accused of stabbing and killing his grandmother in Warren. He was transported to the Safety Building to be temporarily detained, WTVG reports.
