Alabama Officer Killed Attempting to Arrest Wanted Fugitive

According to Fox News, 30-year-old Officer Sean Tuder was shot and killed on Sunday afternoon as a group of officers attempted to arrest 19-year-old Marco Perez, who had reportedly faked his own kidnapping to avoid being taken to jail earlier in the week.

An officer with the Mobile (AL) Police Department was shot and killed while attempting to take into custody a 19-year-old subject who had been wanted by Mobile Police and federal authorities on several charges.

According to Fox News, 30-year-old Officer Sean Tuder was shot and killed on Sunday afternoon as a group of officers attempted to arrest Marco Perez, who had reportedly faked his own kidnapping to avoid being taken to jail earlier in the week.

Mobile Police Chief Lawrence Batiste told reporters that he could not immediately confirm if the suspect—Perez—fired the shot that killed Officer Tuder.

An investigation remains ongoing.

Officer Tuder had served with the Mobile Police Department for three years.
