Igor was off-leash with his handler when fireworks were set off nearby, spooking the dog and causing him to run away on the evening of July Fourth. The agency asked for the public's assistance in locating Igor.

The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office received a call on Monday that Igor was located by an employee arriving at work in an executive park. Officers quickly arrived on-scene and confirmed Igor's identity.

"Igor looks good but is currently at the veterinarian being checked out," the Facebook post said.

The post concluded, "We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the public for their vigilance and outpouring of support throughout this ordeal."
