An officer with the Portland (ME) Police Department had to strategize for a little while before rescuing a skunk that had managed to get its head stuck in an aluminum soda can on Tuesday morning.

According to CentralMaine.com, a resident—37-year-old Tracie Reed—noticed thee officers discussing their rescue plans as a skunk whose head was stuck in the soda can beat it against a recycling bin.

Reed captured the entire incident on mobile phone video and posted it to social media.
