Intoxicated Man Leading CA Police on Foot Pursuit Jumps from Bridge, Dies

A man leading officers with the Los Angeles Police Department on a foot pursuit jumped from a freeway overpass and died on Tuesday.

A man leading officers with the Los Angeles Police Department on a foot pursuit jumped from a freeway overpass and died on Tuesday.

According to NBC News, officers began to approach a man walking on a surface street when the subject took off running. Officers pursued as the man ran onto the 101 freeway and leapt off to a roadway below.

Police said that it wasn't immediately clear whether the man died from the fall or from injuries sustained by being struck by a passing vehicle.

Reportedly, no officers were injured in the incident.
