A police sergeant with the Stuart (FL) Police Department has adopted a little kitten that had been rescued by an officer after the little feline sought a hiding spot in the engine compartment of a patrol vehicle.

The agency said on Facebook, "Upon arrival, the kitten immediately hid inside the engine compartment of Officer Isham's patrol car. It took some skilled negotiating to convince the petrified feline out from his warm hiding spot."

The post concluded, "This little guy must be very happy now as Sergeant David Duran has decided to give him a forever home."
