An officer with the Battle Creek (MI) Police Department who was shot multiple times in the early hours of Saturday morning is now listed in stable condition.
According to WILX-TV, Officer Jeffrey Johnson was among a group of officers who were seeking to arrest a suspect with warrants out of Calhoun and St. Joseph Counties when they came under fire from within a residence.
Officer Johnson was struck in the leg, chest, and wrist.
Another officer transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was subsequently transferred to another medical facility for further treatment.
After conducting a successful search, police arrested suspect Andre Yarbrough in connection with the shooting. He will be formally charged in the coming days.
