A man accused of shooting an officer with the La Crosse (WI) Police Department has pleaded not guilty to the crime.

A man accused of shooting an officer with the La Crosse (WI) Police Department has pleaded not guilty to the crime.

According to ABC News, Allen Kruk is accused of attempted first degree intentional homicide in the shooting of Officer Dustin Darling as he responded to a domestic disturbance complaint in August.

During the incident, Officer Darling returned fire, seriously wounding the gunman.

Darling has been cleared of any wrongdoing in the incident, with the La Crosse County District Attorney declaring that his actions were justified as reasonable use of force.

Kruk's next court appearance is later in December.
