An officer with the Henrico (VA) Police Department said that it was "divine providence" that placed him in exactly the right place at exactly the right time to help save the life of a man who suffered a heart attack in the parking lot of a local restaurant.

According to CBS News, Officer Jonathan Turner was off duty with his family when they pulled into the parking lot of a 'Cook Out' restaurant and saw an elderly man lying on the pavement near a handicapped parking space.

The man was unresponsive so Turner began to perform CPR until uniformed first responders arrived at the scene to provide medical aid.

Once on-duty responders had taken over, Turner proceeded to continue with his dinner plans with his family.

The heart attack victim—identified as 79-year-old John Luck Jr.—was hospitalized for several days but has subsequently been released.
