A teenager has been placed under arrest for suspicion of opening fire on officers with the Baker (LA) Police Department late last week.
According to WBRZ-TV, the shooting happened during a late night traffic stop for a vehicle infraction. Police say that the driver of the vehicle—identified as 17-year-old Artrevion Darnell Lathers—fled the scene on foot and opened fire on officers.
Lathers faces charges of attempted first-degree murder of a peace officer, illegal use of a weapon and possession of a stolen firearm.
No officers were hurt during the incident.
Lathers was booked into jail Wednesday.
