Law enforcement officers—and civilians—from throughout the Midwest gathered at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for a final salute to a fellow officer who was gunned down while responding to a domestic violence call.
According to ABC News, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officer Breann "Bre" Leath was killed in early April when she and other officers responded to a domestic violence call at a residence.

The alleged gunman—identified as 27-year-old Elliahs Dorsey—reportedly opened fire on officers through a closed door, fatally wounding Officer Leath.
Dorsey has been charged with murder.
