OH Deputy Rescues Fawns After Mother is Killed

In Ohio, a Belmont County Sheriff’s Office deputy and a state trooper rescued two fawns after the mother deer was struck and killed on Interstate 70.

In Ohio, a Belmont County Sheriff’s Office deputy and a state trooper rescued two fawns after the mother deer was struck and killed on Interstate 70.

The Belmont County Sheriff’s Office posted photos of Sgt. Tom DeVaul and Highway Patrolman Stan Bittenger with he fawns, one male and one female, on the department’s Facebook page. The post even said DeVaul deer hunts but showed his big heart by helping the two little ones.

The department explains when deputies responded to the scene, the two fawns were found nearby. They were taken to an animal rehabilitation location near Zanesville.
