St. Paul, MN, Police Chief Todd Axtell has announced he is leaving the department next summer.
St. Paul, MN, Police Chief Todd Axtell has announced he is leaving the department next summer.
Axtell has been with the department for over 30 years. He has served as chief for five-and-a-half years. His six-year appointment ends in June, KTSP reports.
"Serving as the Chief of Police for the City of Saint Paul and leading the best officers and civilians in the country has been my greatest professional honor," he said.
Axtell said he was making the announcement far in advance to give the city time to search for a replacement.
