Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey acknowledged that he would seriously consider accepting the post of superintendent of the Chicago Police Department if the position were offered, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Ramsey acknowledged he has talked with Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel, who takes office in May. He said no offer has been made.
Ramsey began his police career in Chicago, and rose to the rank of deputy superintendent. He lost out to Superintendent Terry Hillard for the top job in 1998 and left to become chief of police in Washington. He came to Philadelphia in 2008.
