Ohio Deputy Shoots, Kills Armed Suspect After Cruiser Theft

A Morrow County (Ohio) Sheriff's deputy fatally shot a man who approached him armed with the patrol rifle he stole from another agency's cruiser.

Morrow County Deputy Clifford O'Connor encountered William E. Myers at about 10 p.m. Sunday in a church parking lot on Rt. 314 in Sparta. Earlier in the day, Myers had stolen a Knox County cruiser. A Delaware County Sheriff's deputy pursued Myers but lost him.

Deputy O'Connor spotted then spotted the stolen cruiser in the church lot. The deputy fatally shot Myers after he approached the deputy with a stolen patrol rifle, reports the Columbus Dispatch .
