N.H. Officer Honored for Rescuing Wounded Colleagues

Stratham (N.H.) Police Officer Charles Law was awarded the Medal of Valor Monday for saving two officers wounded in a hail of gunfire in Greenland in April.

Stratham (N.H.) Police Officer Charles Law was awarded the Medal of Valor Monday for saving two officers wounded in a hail of gunfire in Greenland in April.

Officer Law responded to the scene of the shooting at 6:22 p.m. on April 12 and was told that numerous officers were shot and "pinned down by gunfire," reports the Union Leader .

Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney was killed in the shooting, after he dragged a wounded Newmarket detective to safety.

Officer Law drove his cruiser to the wounded officers, loaded them in the vehicle, and brought them to safety.
