A jury found the man who bragged about killing an officer during an armed robbery guilty of first-degree murder Thursday. Antwon Carter shot and killed Chicago Police Officer Michael Bailey outside his own home in 2010 only a few weeks before he was to retire.
Detectives say Bailey, 62, had just gotten off work on then Chicago Mayor Richard Daley’s security detail, reports CBS . He was still in uniform as he returned to his home. As he polished the new Buick Regal that he had bought himself as a retirement gift, Carter allegedly approached him with a gun to try to rob Bailey.
