A man convicted to making threatening 911 calls to Cleveland police officers began holding a sign referring to himself as an idiot outside of Second District headquarters Monday.

In March, a judge had sentenced Richard Dameron , 58, to hold the sign as a way to apologize to Officer Jim Simone, a veteran officer who was profiled in Police Magazine's April "Shots Fired. " Simone has become known as "super cop" because he has been shot twice in his career, including once in the head.
