As the investigation into the police response to the shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas School in Parkland continues, more revelations surface that cast some of the responding officers in a negative light.
Florida Captain Was "Dream Like" During Response to Parkland School Shooting
According to the Miami Herald, a commission investigating the Feb. 14 massacre was told that the Broward Sheriff's Office captain who took charge of the scene during the incident was "ineffective" and had a "dream-like" nature to her speech during the incident.

According to the Miami Herald, a commission investigating the Feb. 14 massacre was told that the Broward Sheriff's Office captain who took charge of the scene during the incident was "ineffective" and had a "dream-like" nature to her speech during the incident.
Jan Jordan, BSO's Parkland district commander, "was not engaged" with finding the shooter, according to an interview BSO Lieutenant Stephen O'Neill gave to investigators.
"[O'Neill] did not think that she was responding to the actual problem at hand," said commission investigator John Suess—a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office sergeant—as he summarized O'Neill's interview during a commission meeting. "Another phrase he used was 'trance-like'."
Others told the commission that Jordan was in "over her head," according to reports.
However, the commission has also determined that at least seven other deputies had arrived on scene before Jordan, and none had entered the building.
