Innovative Law Enforcement Leaders 2023: Monroe County SO's Mental Wellness Program
One of the goals of the program is to help deputies overcome any reticence to speak with the clinicians. “Stigma is found to be the greatest barrier to law enforcement seeking mental health treatment,” Dr. Kim Butler says.
As part of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office wellness program, Dr. Kim Butler and other clinicians are embedded with the deputies and build friendly relationships with them.

Judge Dismisses Fired Fort Lauderdale Chief’s $10 Million Lawsuit
Larry Scirotto, 50, filed a federal lawsuit in March seeking damages approaching $10 million for what he called breach of contract and wrongful termination.
Larry Scirotto served with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police before leading the Fort Lauderdale Police. He is now chief in Pittsburgh.
